This has been one helluva year, hasn’t it? Ups, downs, lockdowns, mental and physical stress, isolation, screen fatigue, the list could keep going. Thankfully, vaccines are rolling out and there’s light at the end of the tunnel. No it’s not going very quickly or smoothly like we’d hoped, but it IS going, and will keep going, until everyone who wants a vaccination has one. I’m still waiting too…but I know my turn will come.
So how are you doing at this point? Have you found your silver lining? Notice I say “your” because that will be different for everyone. Have you been able to find some positives during the pandemic?
What about this – have you reimagined yourself? Maybe you were forced to, by the nature of the pandemic and shutdowns that ensued. If you’ve spent the better part of the last year at home, maybe you’ve taken the time to get to know yourself better and decide what’s actually important to you. Maybe you haven’t been able to, because you’ve been busier than ever during this pandemic.
Whatever your situation, consider taking a few minutes to think about yourself. If you had to reimagine yourself, reimagine a different job, location, social network, etc……what would you look like? I don’t mean physically, although that could be part of it. I’m talking about the whole package – your best self, your highest calling. Maybe it looks just the same, and that’s awesome. Maybe there are a few tweaks, maybe a major shift.
Now how can you progress towards your reimagined self? Life is a journey and this won’t be overnight. Think baby steps. For me, I stepped back from my essential oil and aromatherapy business a bit to give myself time to study more in-depth the clinical/therapeutic side of essential oils. There’s so much more to this field than the olfactory system. I’ve started reimagining myself, listening to my Higher power and paying attention to where I’m called. I still have my day job, but I have a better plan now of how I can phase that out to transition full-time to my passion – and yes, calling – of optimizing “plant medicine” for holistic health in mind, body, and soul.
How about you? Have you already done this? Maybe you have some suggestions for the rest of us. Are you still struggling? We can help each other on this journey. I invite you to share your stories, your struggles, your successes, your “aha” moments.
Let’s lift each other up, encourage each other, be a light for each other. How brightly can we shine? I bet it’s amazing!
