I love working with essential oils: The way a fragrance can lift my mood, help me relax or focus more deeply into meditation; the sighs of relief when I rub an essential oil blend I’ve made into my arthritic areas or bruises. I get a kick out of learning new ways to use essential oils and I’m amazed at their multitude of cosmetic, medicinal, cleansing, and metaphysical properties.
These days it’s very easy to find all kinds of essential oils, and products with essential oils in them. But, do you know what you’re buying and how best to use it? Do you know how the oil was made and where it was harvested? Do you know safe protocols for using essential oils and proper dilutions? Of the essential oil products that you have or use, do you know what percentage of that product is an essential oil (EO)? It can really be confusing. And what do you do if you can’t find what you’re looking for, or you’re not sure what would be best for your needs? That’s where an Aromatherapy Consultation comes in.
To some, it may sound silly to spend money talking to someone about essential oils, what to buy, how to use it and how much to use, and when to use it. But think about it this way: How often do you get someone’s undivided attention to explain your health and wellness/home/spiritual/lifestyle/eco-friendly goals to, and when you’re done talking, you get specific information back about a product or products that can help you achieve your goals? AND you can even have something custom made for you. That’s basically an Aromatherapy Consultation. As an Aromatherapist/Essential Oil Specialist, I can meet with you to hear your specific goals, likes/dislikes, etc., and then provide you with recommendations to help you achieve those goals. We can meet once, or on a regular basis to check in and add or adjust as needed.
I think having a specialist to hear me out and then point me in the right direction is well worth a little of my time and money up front, to save me time and money in the long run. I won’t waste time trying this rub or lotion or cleaning solution, or spraying this blend or burning this incense, to see if it works or if I like the way it smells. Then if it’s a bust, starting all over again and trying something else. Or, maybe there’s something I do want to try but I just want a sample first and not a whole bottle?
What are your thoughts? Would you use this type of service? Why or why not? If you were a client, what do you think would be a reasonable amount of time and money to spend on a consult. If you’ve tried something like this before, or maybe you offer this service yourself, what were your experiences or lessons learned? Thanks for your feedback!! 🙂 Stay safe and healthy!
